History

It is my personal pleasure to introduce the Minermet Group established in Milano, Italy in 1950 and subsequently in 1956 in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Minermet group is a private-owned family group of companies with world wide activity in agricultural products, metals and minerals. Minermet Group is engaged in the physical trading of commodities as principal.

Over the years, the Minermet Group with the participation of my sons, Alain Scheinin, managing Lausanne office, David Scheinin managing feeding stuffs department Milano office and Mr Shimon Abrament managing minmetals department Milano office, has developed considerably.

The important development of Minermet starts from my first attending to the Chinese Guangzhou Fair No. 3 in October 1959 when I started Chinese Business which has become throughout the years a very large portion of our minerals and metals activity.

In 1970 our Hongkong office was already operative and our agriproducts division was established as a world wide traders of feeding stuffs mainly in China, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and ultimately Australia.

Few years later other offices followed such as Bombay (1995), Adelaide (1997) and Shanghai (1992) Our group is also working with exclusive agents in Beijing, Tianjin, China, Bangkok, Thailand and Cairo, Egypt.

I believe that this presentation will illustrate a more comprehensive view of our several commercial activities, considering the 85 years links with China when my father Mr Bernard Scheinin was already a major player of the soyabean trade in Shanghai in the early twenties.
